Heather is a Registered Kinesiologist, with extensive clinical experience in chronic disease management and geriatric rehabilitation. She has held various leadership roles in healthcare and academia and brings a wealth of systems wide performance planning, integrated service delivery, and data-driven quality improvement expertise.

With a passion for contributing to the education and continuing professional  development of  health care professionals, Heather develops and delivers formal and informal educational programming to promote the ability of learners to think critically, appraise evidence and apply knowledge in practice.

Heather, currently in her second term as Chair, first joined the Board of Directors when she moved to Sudbury with her husband and two young boys in 2013. What she didn’t know then was that L’Arche would pull her in, provide her with a deep sense of community, and give back to her family in ways she never imagined.

L’Arche Sudbury community members can always make Heather smile, inspire her to be resilient.  and provide her with the daily motivation required to advocate for resources that support the equity, diversity, and inclusivity needs of all Northern Ontario residents.

Jen feels privileged to have been involved with L’Arche Sudbury since 1987. She is currently the past-chair of the Board, a member of the L’Arche Sudbury Place steering committee and co-chair of the Capital Campaign Committee.  Jen’s family joins her in nurturing their relationships within the L’Arche community and in community activities. “We all enjoy being active in the community and outdoors!”

Leighton Roslyn is a lawyer by profession who was first introduced to L’Arche in 1973 when he attended a Massey Hall function in Toronto which featured Mother Teresa. He was part of the founding team of the L’Arche Sudbury community in 1982 and served the Community in various capacities ever since – as Board Member, Board President, Community Leader, and ex officio Board Member as President of the Guardian Angel Foundation of Sudbury which supports the Sudbury Community. He has served as Board President of L’Arche North America and was part of the founding team. He has also served as Board President of L’Arche Canada and was part of its founding team as well. Now on the verge of retirement, he sails on the North Channel of Georgian Bay/Lake Huron as often as he can.

Terry has been a friend of L’Arche Sudbury since the early 1980’s. The special people of the L’Arche Sudbury community have accompanied her through marriage and the birth and life of her four children. During this time, Terry worked as a pediatric occupational therapist. When she retired, she joined the L’Arche Sudbury Board. Terry has recently embarked on a much welcomed role as “Nana” to four beautiful granddaughters.

Kelly Beaton began her journey in L’Arche in 1999 as an Assistant at L’Arche Ottawa. When she began her teaching career in Sudbury, she was invited to join the L’Arche Sudbury Board of Directors, serving as a board member and later as Chair. Kelly took some time away from this role to focus on raising her children with her husband, Greg. She stayed connected to L’Arche Sudbury by building an ongoing relationship between her young students and the Community Participation program. Kelly was asked to rejoin the Board of Directors in 2023 and she is thrilled to continue to be part of a community that is headed in very exciting new directions!
